Delivery and Payment

Of course it is always best if pipers can pick the pipes up from us, however for most customers this is not possible.

  • We do not make any profit on delivery, we charge you what it costs us.
  • We always insure every parcel, this protects us both, from loss or damage.
  • We are happy to say that in 30+ years we have only had two problem shipments.
  • We use a Scottish consolidator who can offer us various shipper options (although generally UPS is the best).

Payment: Deposit 15% at time of order, balance is payable at the time of collection or before dispatch.

Ordering from the UK: Cards, cheques, bank transfer, or cash, are accepted.

Ordering from abroad: You can pay by Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, American Express, JCB, or cash. Bank transfers (and foreign cheques) are expensive, and take ages, we don’t accept them. We can recommend transferwise among similar companies.

Reeds: As our chanter designs have changed over the years we are cautious about sending reeds on spec through the post, ideally we would have the chanter to hand, but this is often not possible. We do not generally supply reeds for other makers pipes unless exceptionally, the owner comes to the workshop and we happen to have one that is suitable

VAT: We are not, and are not required to be, registered for VAT, so none of this tax is included in our prices. Consequently it cannot be refunded on the pipes etc we sell, wherever they are delivered.

Security Notice: It is no longer considered safe to advise credit card details by email, and our credit card company does not permit this. Given that the customer is not present credit card information should be communicated to us by telephone only (see Contact Us). We can supply bank details for those wanting to do a direct transfer (UK ONLY). Paypal is often used for smaller amounts, where the higher level of commission that we pay is not an issue.
